Registration

There is an all-new approach to entering the Men's Racewear competition this year. All contestants must now pre-register to enter MYER Fashions on the Field at Flemington during Cup week. There will no longer be on-the-day entries. All you have to do is:

• Step One:
  Scroll down this page and fill in your details below under the 'registration form' headline. Numbers are limited so get in early and register to enter.
• Step Two:
  Turn up on AAMI Victoria Derby Day between 12.15pm and 12.45pm to receive your contestant number at the MYER Fashions on the Field Enclosure, now located on the Front Lawn adjacent to the L'Oreal Powder Room.

Note: There are no interstate competitions for Men's Racewear for Myer Fashions on the Field.

Contestant Criteria

Male contestants must fulfil the following criteria and acknowledge that they understand and agree to abide by the criteria as they register in order to enter MYER Fashions on the Field:

1. Contestants must be 18 years of age or more.
2. Contestants and/or their outfits are not permitted to have any commercial agenda.
3. Contestants must not receive any compensation from a third party for entering.
4. Contestants who progress to the Grand Final must agree to sign a Finalist Criteria (see below) document prior to the commencement of the Grand Final.
5. Prize-winners are not permitted to transfer their prizes to a third party.

Judging Criteria

A panel of judges will base their votes on the following Men's Racewear Criteria:

• Style and originality
• Appropriateness of the outfit for the Melbourne Cup Carnival and the individual
• Attention to detail with accessories (e.g. hat, lapel flower etc)
• Understanding and interpretation of the current fashion trends
• Grooming and deportment
• Suitability of the outfit for the climate

Finalist Criteria

Contestants that make it into a Men's Racewear "Final" will be asked to fill in a Finalist Criteria Form prior to taking part in that final. The finalist criteria includes:

• Finalists must not make any alterations to any of their garments from their first to their final appearance in the 2008 MYER Fashions on the Field competition. Any alterations to garments will result in disqualification from the competition.
• Finalists who fail to appear in their next appropriate "final" will be disqualified from the competition.
• Finalists must not receive any payment or compensation from a third party for entering.
• Finalists who win prizes agree not to transfer any of them to a third party.
• Finalists who win the Grand Final agree to be available for a minimum of six appearances in relation to the MYER Fashions on the Field competition during 2008/2009.

Pre Registration Draw

The competition opens on 4/9/08 at 12.00pm and closes at 5.00pm on 24/10/08. The draw will take place at Flemington Racecourse, Flemington Drive, off Epsom Road, Flemington Vic 3031 at 1.50pm on 6/11/08. Winners will be notified by phone, mail and published in The Australian on03/12/08. The Melbourne Cup Carnival logo is TM, Victoria Racing Club Limited (ACN 119 214 078).
